Situated on the South Western point of the Côte de Beaune, this ancient fortress was erected in 1298 in the village of Dracy-lès-Couches.
The Château cellar, with its single span vault of 70m, was built in 1728 on the site of a first vat room dating from 1547, proof that the vineyard estate already existed at this period.

6 bottles of Hautes Côtes de Nuits "Aux Dames Huguette" red wine The wines called "Hautes Côtes de Nuits" are produced on the hillside situated on the other side of the traditional slope or «côte» where the most famous Burgundy wines are produced. The official appellation "Hautes Côtes" has existed since 1961, but wine has been produced there for the last 100 years or so. All red wines are made with the pinot noir grape and whites with chardonnay as well as some aligolté.

Saint Véran is part of the larger Mâcon area, one of France’s most well known white wine areas. Chardonnay is the main white grape grown in the area and it does quite well on the heavy chalky soils. The countryside is very hilly and the vineyards are planted on the favorably exposed slopes. Cows graze on the slopes that do not receive enough sunlight. In general, Saint Véran wines are fuller than Mâcon and less powerful than Pouilly Fuissé, the most well-known in the triumvirate of white wines from the region.
